The Company
Latilla (pronounced, "La tee ah") is a privately held company founded by industry veterans
Loretta Wickenden and Todd Rahmes. Latilla provides operational risk management software
and consulting services to organizations worldwide.
Our software solutions are developed by people who have been involved in the financial
industry since the 1970s. Their experience, coupled with close liaison with current market
practitioners helps ensure that our solutions are relevant to market requirements.
The Market
Operational risk management is nothing new; it has been an essential aspect of good
management ever since financial institutions first opened their doors. However, a number of
high-impact operational losses over a relatively short timeframe, some of which resulted in
institutional failure, have highlighted the need for stronger operational risk management
practices, and heightened the interest of both financial institutions and the regulators. The
financial services sector has seen major advancements in the field of risk management in the
past decade, and operational risk management is now receiving greater prominence and
recognition as a category in its own right alongside market and credit risk management. The
control of operational risk is inextricably linked to good management, which involves high
levels of vigilance and ongoing reviews and improvement. Operational risk management adds
value, either directly or indirectly, to bottom-line performance and should therefore be a key
consideration for any organization.
An organization needs to be able to determine its overall risk appetite, and to identify, assess,
mitigate, control, monitor, review and update its operational risks on an ongoing basis. Latilla's
suite of C4i™ solutions enable you to automate and control your organization's operational risk
management activities.
Our Solutions
C4i Ops Risk Manager allows you to identify and classify potential operational risks, perform
ongoing self assessments, capture near-miss and actual operational risk loss event data,
monitor operational risk profiles, view automated alert messages, and produce management
information reports, thereby improving your control of operational risks.
C4i Operations Performance Manager (OPM) extracts data from disparate systems and actively
monitors for potential operational risk events in order to aid the qualitative and quantitative
assessment of operational risk. It recognizes and intercepts exceptions based on
user-configurable rules and alerts the relevant personnel so that potential problems can be
identified and resolved. C4i's exception monitoring need not be confined to processing errors:
it can alert users to any activities that might lead to increased operational risks such as periods
of high volume, unconfirmed transactions, or reduced systems performance.
Consulting
Our experience as consultants to and executives of global financial institutions and software
companies allows us to provide our clients with tailored solutions to meet their needs. Our
areas of expertise cover operations management, operational risk management, software
design and implementation, and product management.
